Hello!
I am Erin Vaughn. I have been tattooing in Alabama since 2006. My tattooing story is pretty straight forward. I was hanging out in a motorcycle repair shop and the tattoo artist there needed someone to scrub the toilets and the tubes, and I was the woman for the job. She was an intimidating woman, the kind to knock your block off if you looked at her the wrong way, but I learned so much from this hardened woman.
I was in college for art at the time my official apprenticeship started, although I never graduated with an art degree. I did however get a degree in surgical technology, then simultaneously worked in a tattoo studio and worked for an organ donation company, followed by being a surgical scrub in labor & delivery. I currently tattoo full time, and although I loved my time in the healthcare industry, I am so thankful that I no longer work multiple jobs and can focus on my passion.
I have two children, both boys age 14 and 8 and a husband who is a musician. We live in a quiet neighborhood and enjoy all being home together when I am not working.
I have spent most of my career doing a mix of walk in tattoos and scheduled custom tattoos. As I've settled into my style I find animals and florals to be my favorite subjects in an illustrative style. I like clean, bold, BLACK lines. My favorite reaction from a client is when they say people stop them all the time to compliment their tattoo, or they say that the tattoo gave them confidence to show off their body in a positive way when they felt self conscious before the tattoo. My goal for the next five years is to refine my individual style and connect with the clients who like what I like to do. At the end of my life I want to be able to say, "I tattooed for more than 40 years, and wouldn't have had it any other way."
If you are interested in working with me now or in the future, reach out on my social media or email erinvaughntattooartist@gmail.com. I work at Red Tide Tattoo in Daphne, Alabama
I look forward to working with you! Take Care
