I've been tattooing for eight years. My background is primarily in the fine arts where I've spent 20+ years as a professional freelance painter/illustrator. Tattooing came to me a bit later than it does for most, as I started in my apprenticeship in my late 30s. Over time my tattooing style has evolved as I've felt the freedom to incorporate more and more of my painting style into my tattoo work. In the last couple of years I find that while I most love to do painterly and watercolor style tattoos, I thoroughly enjoy doing work with bold black and colors, strong line work, and sharp contrast.
Being a Lutheran girl, I find I'm often out of place in this industry, but that only makes me work harder to excel and create the best work I can for my clients. My faith carries over into my tattooing, as I feel both the need to work well with my hands and to treat people with the kindness they deserve.
