How does one describe the individual known to the world as Wade Johnson? Tattooing for 11 years its clear words are hard to find lest you want to sound like the follower of a cult leader. I had the honor of following him around while making my in depth documentary about bearded male former Dungeons&Dragons players who took up the art of tattooing after working a series of jobs after college. This Georgian native was born on the bicentennial year of these United States in the city of Atlanta, but the Fayette/Coweta county area became home through different times in his life. After leaving high school he attended a few colleges studying art and illustration (Univeristy of West Georgia & Savannah College of Art & Design being among them).
His Decade spanning tattoo career was launched when he started working at Karmic Tattoos in Mcdonough GA after his apprenticeship. Having worked there for several years he decided that a change of environment is critical in artist growth and seized an opportunity to work at Forever Yours Tattoo Gallery in Douglasville Ga. Shortly after that was another opportunity to work at Olde Line Tattoo in Hagerstown MD. After just over a year there he went to work at Town Hall Tattoo in Wilkes-Barre PA. He spent almost another year there but decided it was time to get back to the southland after the arrival of his second child. Blessed with a beautiful wife and two wonderful children he now applies his art at 3rd Eye Tattoo in Sharpsburg GA. He does on occasion travel and apply his trade where ever he happens to roam, and with him follows his wit, wisdom, sage like insight. His presence has been described as that of a casual roman god (if that roman god ate fast food).
